Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine (LCP)
Course Overview
The Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine (Program Code: PDAM LCP) is an Internationally certified Program in Aesthetic Medicine for Malaysian Medical Doctors & Dentists who intend to:
- Start a career in Aesthetic Medicine.
- Incorporate Aesthetic procedures in their existing practice.
- Attain International certification and recognition in Aesthetic Medicine.
- Obtain the Letter of Credentialing & Privileging (LCP) in Aesthetic Medicine for Medical Doctors.
- Obtain the Credentialing & Privileging in Oro-Facial Aesthetic (CP-OFA) for Dentists.
- 6-alternate weekends (12-days) of onsite theory lecture, clinical demonstration and clinical training.
- 2-days of Continuous Professional Development training in Aesthetic Medicine.
- 1-year access to the online library for self-studying.
To complete the Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine Program, Learners must:
- Achieve 75% attendance criteria.
- Complete the Clinical training and logbook.
- Pass the written multiple choice question (MCQ) examination, which will be held on the last day of the Program.
Learners who complete the Program will receive:
- Certificate in Aesthetic Medical Training, issued by IIWAM.
- Certificate of Continuous Professional Development in Aesthetic Medicine, issued by IIWAM and CPD Standards Office (UK).
- Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine, issued by the European International University (on graduation day).
Fee is inclusive of:
- 8% SST
- Theory lectures, clinical demonstration & clinical training.
- Examination fee.
- Certification fee.
- Use of clinical premises.
- Use of Laser devices.
- Access to Online Aesthetic Medical Library for 12-months.
Fee is NOT inclusive of:
- Travelling, accommodation and food.
- Aesthetic pharmaceuticals / products.
- Graduation ceremony.
- Other ancillary costing.
Fee is subject to change but is protected upon paying the registration fee.
There are several rebate plans. It includes:
- Early payment scheme: RM 2200 rebate (applicable when payment is completed 1-month before commencement date).
- Enrol together rebate plan: RM 3100 rebate (applicable when 2 or more Learners enrol together 1-month before commencement date).
- Split payment scheme: RM 1000 rebate (applicable for 3-instalment payments made 1-month apart).
- Instalment payment scheme (up to 60-months) with selected credit cards.

Modules
This is an Introductory Module, which includes the Program Induction Module, the scope of Aesthetic Medicine, regulatory orders, medico-legal process along with other operative details, particularly on Aesthetic Medical Business Operations. It also guides Malaysian Medical Doctors on how to set-up an Aesthetic Medical practice in Malaysia including the pathway and preparation for the KKM LCP exam. The PDAM-LCP modules are structured according to the syllabus required by the Ministry of Health for the KKM LCP Examination.
This module includes theory lectures on Facial Anatomy, Skin Physiology, Aesthetic Dermatology, Aesthetic Pharmacology and Psychology in Aesthetic Medicine. This module also covers Facial Analysis, Facial Compartments and Danger Zones of the Face in relation to different procedures such as Botulinum Toxin, Dermal Filler, Skin Boosters, Chemical Peel and Lasers.
The theory lectures on Botulinum Toxin includes Serology of Botulinum Toxin, Botulism, Pharmacology of Botulinum Toxin, Mechanism of Action, Indications and Complications related to Botulinum Toxin. At the end of the training, Learners shall understand theoretical and clinical principles of Botulinum Toxin, including the use of Botulinum Toxin for Facial Lines & Wrinkles, Treatment of Hyperhidrosis, Facial Recontouring, use of Botulinum Toxin in chronic pain management and use of Botulinum Toxin in Face & Neck procedures.
The theory lectures on Dermal Filler are very detailed and includes the Rheology of Dermal Fillers, different types of Dermal Filler, difference between Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Non-HA Dermal Fillers. The module also focuses extensively on Dermal Filler related complications, including necrosis of the skin and retrograde embolism of Dermal Filler. At the end of the training, Learners shall understand theoretical and clinical principles of Dermal Filler, including the use of Dermal Fillers for Facial Lines, Augmentation & Facial Makeover & Managing Complications.
The theory lectures on Laser Science and Intense Pulsed Light is detailed yet simplified for Learners to understand the theoretical and clinical principles of Selective Photothermolysis, Principles of Homogenous Photothermolysis, Fractional Photothermolysis, Light Tissue Optics and Laser Complications. At the end of the training, Learners shall understand theoretical and clinical principles of Laser Skin Rejuvenation, Laser Hair Removal, Laser for Pigmentation and Laser Tattoo Removal.
This module consists of theory lectures on the use of Chemical Peel, Microdermabrasion and Energy Based Devices, such as Radiofrequency, Infrared and High Intense Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for skin rejuvenation and skin tightening in Aesthetic Medicine. The topics include the different types of Chemical Peels used in Aesthetic Medicine, stages of wound rejuvenation and complications related to Chemical Peel. For skin tightening devices, the topics include the mechanism of action of skin tightening devices related to Radiofrequency, Infrared and High Intense Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). At the end of the training, Learners shall understand theoretical and clinical principles of how to use and combine Chemical Peel, Microdermabrasion and Energy Based Devices (Radiofrequency, Infrared and High Intense Focused Ultrasound) for a fresher and rejuvenated skin for their patients.
This is a supplementary module which consists of theory lectures on Skin Boosters, Barbed Suture and Ultrasound Guided Facial Aesthetic Imaging. The topics on Skin Boosters include the different types of Skin Boosters in Aesthetic Medicine, mechanism of action of Skin Boosters and their indications based on the patient’s needs. The topics on Barbed Suture (Threadlift) includes the different types of Barbed Sutures used in Aesthetic Medicine, their uses, facial vectors in Aesthetic Medicine and techniques of Threadlift. Finally, the Ultrasound Guided Facial Aesthetic Imaging topic will teach Doctors on how to assess facial vessels and facial structures using ultrasound in order for them to perform a safe & effective procedure, particularly in Dermal Fillers and Threadlift.
This module consists of discussion on clinical papers and journals, including updated rescue protocols for Aesthetic Medical procedures. It will also cover newer advancements and updates in Aesthetic Medicine, such as Follicular Unit Extraction (Hair Transplant), Platelet Rich Plasma and Stem Cell Medicine.
This is a Revision Module, where Learners will discuss and review their clinical findings and any adverse effects they may have encountered during their Clinical procedures and updated rescue protocols. This module also prepares the Learners for the Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine final exam.
